Our Baking Journey

Every story has a beginning, and ours started at a kitchen counter covered in flour, tears, and a whole lot of love.

For years, I poured every ounce of my energy into my family, into raising our three beautiful children who fill our home with laughter, chaos, and endless lessons about patience and strength. Being a stay-at-home mom was the role I always dreamed of, but there were moments when I felt invisible. I knew I was contributing in every possible way, yet deep down, there was this quiet whisper that I wasn’t doing enough. It is a feeling so many mothers know too well, that haunting thought that you should be doing more, giving more, being more.

I wanted to help our family not just emotionally, but financially. I wanted to prove to myself that I was still capable of creating something meaningful outside the walls of our home. More than that, I wanted to show my children what perseverance looks like, what it means to take something small, fragile, and uncertain, and turn it into something beautiful.

The funny thing is, baking was never part of the plan. I didn’t grow up in a home of bakers. In fact, when I first got married, I could barely cook a decent meal. My husband, on the other hand, was the one who loved to experiment in the kitchen. He wasn’t a chef by trade, but he cooked like one, and I was lucky enough to enjoy every delicious dish that came out of his hands. For years, he was the one who made sure our family ate well, and I was more than happy to let him take the lead.

But little by little, something started to shift. I began watching, learning, and trying new things. I still remember the first time I made dinner for him after a long day at work. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. It took time, effort, and love, and seeing him smile made it all worth it. Slowly, I found a rhythm in the kitchen. I learned to appreciate the beauty in preparing something that brings people together.

Then, life got busier. Kids have a way of turning everything upside down, especially around mealtime. Suddenly, creativity in the kitchen was traded for convenience, and the joy of cooking often got lost in the noise of everyday life. But there was one thing that never failed to bring back that spark: cookies.

Cookies were simple, comforting, and magical in their own way. No matter how rough the day had been, the smell of cookies baking could soften the edges. Watching my kids light up when they tasted them became one of my favorite parts of motherhood. Their laughter as they waited by the oven, the way their eyes lit up when they took that first bite, it reminded me why I loved creating things from scratch. I needed that spark. I needed that joy because of everything else our family was enduring behind the scenes.

Our youngest son was born with a rare and devastating genetic disease called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). Before his diagnosis, we had never even heard of it. The day we found out changed our lives forever. The seizures, the uncertainty, the countless doctor visits, it became our new normal. It reshaped our world and redefined what family meant to us.

There were moments that broke us. Moments filled with fear, exhaustion, and helplessness. But through it all, we learned what true strength and togetherness look like. Our family motto, “Together is our favorite recipe,” was born from those moments. It became a reminder that no matter how hard life gets, we are stronger when we face it together.

Baking cookies started as a small act of joy, a way to reclaim a sense of peace in the chaos. But it became so much more. It became my therapy, my creative outlet, and my connection to something beyond survival. I never set out to start a business, but as I shared my cookies with friends and family, their encouragement and love planted a seed. What began as a hobby turned into a dream, and that dream became The Sweet Three Cookie Co.

The name is a tribute to my three children, the heart of everything I do. They are the reason I wake up each day ready to push forward, no matter how heavy life feels. This company represents endurance, love, and resilience. It is a reflection of all the late nights, the tears, the prayers, and the hope that even in struggle, sweetness can be found.

I want my kids to be proud of what we are building together. I want them to see that even when life hands you challenges you never expected, you can turn them into something meaningful. I want them to know that their mom fought for something beautiful, not just for herself, but for them.

Every cookie that leaves our kitchen carries a piece of our story. It is a story of heartbreak and healing, of faith and flour, of love baked into every bite.

So when you take a bite of one of our cookies, you are not just tasting butter and sugar. You are tasting hope. You are tasting resilience. You are tasting a family that refused to give up, even when life tried to crumble us.

The Sweet Three Cookie Co. is not just a business. It is our family story, baked with love, courage, and the belief that together, we can turn even the hardest moments into something sweet.
